I’ve taken unique paths to gain some of my most rewarding experiences and sometimes I was scared to death the entire journey! I learned A-LOT along the way and I’m willing to share. I encourage and inspire women to find the clarity in their uncertainty and the courage to take “the next step” out of stagnate situations. After graduating from Michigan State University, I began my corporate career working in technology. While it was a financially rewarding career, and I excelled at it, it wasn’t what I was born to do. Unfortunately, it took years to figure out that I could CHOOSE things in my life instead of accepting what was there in front of me. I struggled holding on to jobs I hated and being too scared to quit any of them. I endured relationships that I didn’t want just to have someone to spend time with on the weekend so I wasn’t alone. It was through tragedy that I finally gathered the courage to say ENOUGH and reach out for something I WANTED in my life. That lead to transition from a 30 year time, task and team management career and survival of the "snare" of work-a-holism, to CREATE a balanced, confident lifestyle…without guilt and regret! I transitioned my technology career to my natural gifts career in personal and professional development. During my transition, I learned who I wanted to be, gained experience being ME, became a published author and began writing as a self-help magazine columnist. As a life coach, I successfully guide others through overwhelm to find their own clarity and create a path to move forward. I enjoy speaking around the US to secular and business groups, large and small to encourage and inspire others to find clarity in their overwhelm and increase confidence in their daily lives. My Coaching and Training make an indelible impact on the professional and personal growth of leaders, executives, working and retired women. My motto: “You can do infinitely more than you think you can…I’m living proof”. I wish you success in finding and living your Best YOU! I can be found at PamelaBurks.com. Speaking requests can be sent to pamelaspeaks@pamelaburks.com.

LaToya NaShae's passion and purpose are equipping others to live like they know WHOSE they are. This is accomplished through the avenues of writing, speaking and now, coaching. She readily comes along beside others on their journey to discovering who they are in Christ and becoming empowered to walk in purpose. Whether seated beside her on the couch or across the country, LaToya walks in faith with you. Her aim is to encourage you to live an unstuck, unbound, unbreakable life in Christ! LaToya is a graduate of Murray State University where she received a B.S. in Biology. Wait. Now she’s a coach? Yes. While striving toward personal goals, she developed a deeper reverence for the will of the Father. It was during her final semester of undergrad that LaToya heard clearly that it was not the will of God for her to pursue a career in dentistry. Having dreamed of being a dentist from the age of 4, her world was rocked… but she knew God to be faithful. A word from the Lord will always set a process in motion. And that it did. Over the next 10 years, LaToya NaShae blossomed into an author and speaker, all while working unfulfilling, seemingly purposeless jobs. Often, transition and stuckness share characteristics. Despite how it appeared to others, she knew where she was wasn’t who she was. In the fall of 2018, LaToya received her acceptance into the Christian Coach Institute’s Christian personal life coach program. On January 12, 2019 – just 12 days before becoming a student for the second time – the Holy Spirit gave her the name BREAKOUT Coaching. On May 16, 2019, she graduated from CCI and BREAKOUT Coaching was birthed shortly thereafter.

If you had told me even a couple years ago that I would be a special education teacher, I would have probably told you that sounded like the beginning of either a really bad joke or a really good story. Luckily for me, it’s the latter. I decided to pursue Special Education, and teaching in general, somewhat begrudgingly. Teaching “runs in my family,” and whether it was the result of a prolonged rebellious phase where I was determined to not be what people expected me to be, or the result of what my parents lovingly refer to as “stubborn bitchiness” which we’re pretty sure is genetic, becoming a teacher — especially a special ed teacher — is something I never thought I would do. Going through my credential program was a period of tremendous self-discovery for me, and I can now proudly say that being a special education teacher is not just something I do. It is literally who I am, fundamentally in the depths of my soul. I feel this aspect of my identity in the same place in my soul where I feel my identity as a disabled person, and as a woman, but At its worst, I think Special Education has a tendency to look a lot like segregation. My needs are not somehow “special”, or more than anyone else’s. And neither are the needs of my students. I think it would benefit all of us to look in the mirror at our childhood selves every once in a while, and to tell that kid something to encourage them to be the best possible versions of themselves they can be. As a teacher, I am given the incredible gift of being able to do this every single day for my students. Historically, disability was nothing more than a diagnosis. It has been used as a justification for pitying and even fearing members of the disabled community. We are rarely represented in the world at large, and when we are, it is often to illustrate a point for the benefit of those outside of the disabled community. For as long as it took me to realize my identity as a teacher, it took me nearly as long to realize that my disability isn’t just something for me to overcome. It is an aspect of my identity that I can be proud of. I do not need to be “fixed” because I am not broken. This is a value I hope to impart to my disabled students. I have spent most of my adult life unlearning the implicit lessons of shame that I was taught in large part through special education. As a special education teacher, I hope to not participate in perpetuating the same ideas I grew up with, but to create an environment where my students will never learn those lessons in the first place. I am incredibly passionate about drawing attention to the representation problem we have among education professionals. I want to diversify the teacher workforce, with the disabled community at the forefront. Special Education, and our education system in general is problematic.
