My name is Sangeetha Param from Bangalore India. I am 24 years old. I am a survivor of depression. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder in November 2014 and have been battling it since then. Going through physical emotional and mental abuse since childhood, became one of the reasons of my depression. I want to talk about how I overcame this, how I am over coming this stigma. Depression is considered a stigma even today. I want to talk about it and show that it can be spoken about. I want to tell people that they can speak about it without being afraid of being judged by he society. I am an author and poet. I have written 2 books ' Key to Acceptance' and ' Echoes in my attic ' related to my depression. The young adults are the ones who are major victims of this epidemic me being one. My father is a cancer survivor and at the age of 11 I saw the battle he faced with death. It made me change the whole perspective towards life. Depression and cancer, two major epidemics of this age, both a stigma. Depression is the cancer in the mind which not many people accept. Hence, as a survivor, a social activist, a poet and author I would like to speak out my struggles and my battle. Also, I would like to emphasize on the stigma that people don't want to go to the psychiatrist and get treated as they would be termed as ' crazy'. I would like to give a talk and share my survival story as a recipient of depression. I am no counselor or doctor, I want to share how depression is dealt by a patient. I have also give a tedx talk. I will be giving another tedx talk.

Jonathan’s presentations are the result of heart-felt experience, critical thought and an unbridled passion to help others achieve their full potential. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jonathan is the last of four children, whose lives were enveloped in poverty and homelessness. By the time he was 17 years old, he and his family had lived in two homeless shelters, a church, a small fourth-floor attic, public housing projects and a hotel, among many other places. However, with his determination to ascend from poverty unaffected, he earned his G.E.D. and obtained an associate’s degree in English and Communications at Allegheny Community College. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communications from Point Park University where he graduated Cum Laude. Jonathan then attended and graduated from Ohio State University College of Law. He then practiced law at the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. During his 12-year-career there, he served in a variety of leadership posts, including Deputy Attorney General and Section Chief. He led several departments to achieve success. As a result, he was a recipient of the Ohio Attorney General's Innovation and Excellence Award in 2005. Jonathan is also an avid photographer. Pictures have intrigued him ever since he was a child. While growing up, drawing pictures provided him with an escape from his life of poverty. Later in life he became hooked on photography when he happened upon a 35 mm camera and looked through the viewfinder. He was so enthralled that he studied photography as part of his undergraduate major in communications. Today Jonathan serves as CEO of Clear Picture Leadership®. He uses lessons learned from his childhood, leadership skills honed throughout his career and the inspiration embodied in his artwork to encourage leaders to achieve a “clear picture” vision. As Jonathan says, “Picturing your destination is the first step to achieving something great.” Sometimes leaders are tempted to cast aside an imaginative vision because it is deemed “unrealistic.” Yet – as his tagline says – Jonathan challenges leaders with “a different perspective: Where imagination and reality

Katrina Robinson was born and raised in Memphis, TN . Growing up the youngest of her siblings, Katrina learned how to make her own path at an early age. She graduated from Whitehaven High School in 1998, the youngest in her class and went on to Xavier University in Louisiana in hot pursuit of a career as a plastic surgeon. Then life happened. Katrina became a teenage mother and had to put her educational career on hold. In true resilient Katrina fashion, she shifted her focus to building her professional career. She started a calculated ascent in the business world, enjoying a successful career in business sales for BellSouth, Konica Minolta, and FedEx. During this time, she also earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing Management from University of Memphis. It was after closing a huge deal as a Strategic Accounts Director for a major gas company that Katrina found herself jobless and in need of a change. She made up her mind to return to her love of healthcare through a nursing education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. In her time as a registered nurse for Methodist Healthcare, Katrina developed a keen interest in clinical education and identified the need for more educational resources for individuals interested in pursuing healthcare careers. Through time spent mentoring young adults and providing guidance in career goals, she discovered that there were a number of individuals interested in educational programs in healthcare but often lacked the resources or funding. From this, her vision for The Healthcare Institute was born. With no formal training or education in grant writing, Katrina wrote her own grant proposal and successfully secured a $1.6M grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This funding is used to provide scholarships for people like those that she mentored looking for a jumpstart to their education and also to provide patient education to the elderly community. The Healthcare Institute has since made a monumental impact on the local healthcare workforce and alternative postsecondary opportunities for the community. On August 2, 2018, Katrina Robinson was elected State Senator (TN, District 33), unseating a 12 year incumbent in a 2 to 1 victory. She has taken her seat to impact education, healthcare, and economic opportunity for people just like her across Tennessee. In addition to education, Katrina is a noted advocate for children. She founded The Sweet Jar Foundation – a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization committed to ending child sexual abuse and molestation. Sweet Jar provides resources for survivors of molestation as well as a platform for reformation of laws governing prosecution of offenders. Ms. Robinson is also owner of Celebrity Body Studio – a noninvasive cosmetic enhancement spa in Memphis. Ms. Robinson has two children, Jaden and Amaya.
