I am a peripatetic sociologist, writer, editor and Jewish communal activist. I have published 4 books and dozens of other publications. My principle areas of expertise are (in no particular order): Contemporary Jewish communities , antisemitism, the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, popular music culture (particularly heavy metal, scenes, communities and 'small worlds'. I have wide experience of speaking at both academic and non-academic events, together with considerable media experience. Istvan Perger holds an MA in International Relations and Economics with a complementary degree in Legal Studies. He worked as a journalist before joining the European Parliament Press Service in 2005, where he eventually lead the team covering Foreign Affairs, Security and Defence, Development, Human Rights and Trade. During the Hungarian EU Presidency in 2011, he was posted to the Foreign Ministry of Hungary. Since 2012, he has been the Head of Communication of the European Commission Representation in Budapest, Hungary. He is a passionate traveller and travel photographer. I was born in 1958 and started working full time at the age of 16. It was the start of a long discovery journey of knowledge in practice, complemented with different sources of information. I am very grateful for all the chances that I have had in my life and for everything that I have been able to learn in practice. I became : - Marketing Responsible for Flanders for a Mail order company during 8 years; - Account Manager in the Direct Marketing business for about 20 years, and - simultaneously 17 years IT Manager for that same company I am a highly sensitive person and physical pain, among others 15 years through blockages caused by stress, was the red thread in my life. Begin 2012, I had an amazing experience that showed me how I could solve and avoid all that and what gave me my biggest insight as woman: Women are all beautiful beings with an incredible potential and we can reach anything that our heart desires .
