From a tender age, academic excellence was his second nature. Ayden Hector Stanford's dedication was evident at Eastside Catholic High School in Sammamish, WA. Four consecutive years on the honor roll was just the beginning of his tale. Completing his high school education in 2020, he imbibed a comprehensive academic foundation and was an active volunteer and enthusiast in various school activities. His exposure to multiple Microsoft tools during this time proved invaluable in the subsequent stages of his life. Moreover, his prowess wasn't restricted to academics alone. His exceptional athletic abilities saw him being recognized as an all-state player multiple times. Post his illustrious tenure at Eastside Catholic High, Ayden chose to venture further in his academic pursuits. The picturesque environment and the vibrant mountains of Colorado beckoned him. Hence, he enrolled at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO. While the serenity of the hills provided solace, his passion for academics never waned. He immersed himself in business studies, displaying such dedication that he's projected to graduate ahead of his peers in December 2023. However, his achievements weren't confined to just classrooms. The football field bore testimony to another facet of his talent. Representing the Colorado State Rams, his love for football found the perfect avenue. Playing defensive back, he showcased his skill set and earned accolades like the all-conference honors despite playing only seven games. In the 2022 football season, he emerged as a pivotal figure in the team's defense strategy. His stats speak volumes, with 24 tackles and three game-changing interceptions. One particular game that stands out from that season was October 7, 2022. His performance that day – 8 tackles and an interception, which he spectacularly returned for a touchdown – was legendary. With three more years to contribute to Colorado State's football legacy, the future seems promising for Ayden as he gears up for another exhilarating season in 2023.

I am 20+ years into my recovery from drugs, alcohol, and sexual abuse. Though I have experience some horrific situations, I have learned who to am and become stronger as a result. I have a business degree from UCF and a successful career, but more importantly have learned to fall with grace and get back up, still moving forward. Learning and understanding mental health issues. Understanding addictive personalities and maneuvering thru the world as a “normal” person has been a long term journey and a beautiful one at that. A wife, a sister, a daughter, an employee, an untraditional mom, but truly so much more. Not defined by a title, I am excited to share the path I’ve travelled. I hope to share the experience strength and hop of my journey with others to provide hope, compassion and understanding.

I have been a leader of people and have worked in the Safety, Loss Prevention, and Leadership spaces for over 25 years. I built many teams during that time and I have found that how well they execute two key fundamental skills will determine how successful (or not) they will be. These two skills are communication and accountability. How well a team communicates and holds both themselves and each other accountable is CRITICAL to their success, yet so many teams continue to struggle in these areas. Why? The answer is that we have not made sure that these two fundamental skills have been well ingrained in our teams before attempting to execute any vision set before them or delegating tasks. We can have the greatest vision in the world, but if teams don’t know how to communicate, it is never going to come to fruition. We can delegate tasks all day, but if we don’t know how to hold ourselves or others accountable, we are not going to accomplish much. Think of it like this: you can't add the roof or the windows to a house before you first lay the foundation or put up the walls. My passion is coaching people on these fundamental skills and building better teams. It’s why I founded Bricks & Mortar Leadership; to pass on these age-old, time-tested principles and proven philosophy of leadership and help build teams that inspired.
