Jean Pierre Valentini est né le 5 février 1964 à Corte, en Corse. Dés son plus jeune âge c’est un bon élève. C’est en 1988 que Jean Pierre va se lancer dans le milieu de la Finance et du Management en entreprenant un MBA à l’Université de Hartford dans le Connecticut. Il posa un premier pied dans le milieu de l’énergie lors d’un stage au sein du groupe Elf à Houston, Texas. Puis il devient rapidement responsable du trading dans ce même groupe. En 1990, Jean Pierre Valentini intègre la Raffinerie de Donge en Loire-Atlantique durant deux ans avant de retourner auprès de la compagnie pétrolière Elf en tant que trader.Ici encore, Jean Pierre a su faire ses preuves et se hisser au poste de responsable trading au sein de la direction sur toute la zone d’Afrique de l’ouest. En 2004 il rejoint cette fois-ci le groupe Trafigura, 3ème plus grand groupe pétrolier du monde, toujours en tant que responsable trading avant de récupérer la zone est-africaine en 2008. En moins d’un an, Jean Pierre Valentini est devenu le directeur de la zone Afrique toujours chez Trafigura : c’est d’ailleurs le fait d’armes professionnels dont il est le plus fier, d’avoir développé les marchés africains à la fois avec ELF et Trafigura. C’est enfin en 2011 qu’il s’est vu attribué toutes les activités du groupe sur le continent Africain. 5 ans plus tard, Jean Pierre Valentini se lance en tant que consultant international en matières premières apres une longue et brillante carrière, il est également actionnaire de plusieurs start-up notamment dans l’immobilier, la certification de montres de luxe ou encore la high-tech. Il créa la start-up Easypics qui, via des algorithmes, travaill sur la réputation des PME et a fini par fusionner avec celle-ci. Jean Pierre Valentini fait preuve d’une rare curiosité intellectuelle. Grand collectionneur, il détient l’une des plus grandes collections de montres Rolex vintage du monde. Amateur d’art contemporain, il est propriétaire de trois tableaux de Pierre Soulages dont le dernier qu’il a peint en 2018. Amateur de mobilier des années 50, il raffole des designers tels Jean Prouvé, Charlotte Perriand ou Pierre Jeanneret, cousin du célèbre Le Corbusier. Egalement amateur d’art japonais, JPV collectionne les stylos Namiki et les Netsuke qui sont des boutons rares des kimonos de Samouraï. Raushenberg, Burri, Fontana, Castelani.... Passionné de courses d’endurance auto, il est propriétaire d’une écurie à Dubaï GP Extreme et roule en Porsche 911 GT3. Citoyen du monde, il suit avec attention et perspicacité la géopolitique.
