I have lived in 4 countries and on 2 continents. Growing up as an immigrant and a cross-cultural kid I was able to discover a multicultural world that shaped me into the person I am today. As an adult, I experienced life as a re-pat as well as an expat and I am not a stranger to the challenges and opportunities that living abroad offers. Just when I least expected it, I met my Danish husband and once again packed my life in boxes and set off to live happily ever after in the land of the Vikings and Hygge. I have been able to combine my passion and profession as an Interculturalist, owner, and founder of Active Action, public speaker, and facilitator. I am an Interculturalist focused on attracting and retaining highly skilled internationals. I specialize in intercultural awareness, cultural transition and adaptation processes, International identity and belonging, and well-being.

In a world that is so divided, consisting of heavy darkness, my goal is to inspire others to have faith in God, maintain a strong mindset throughout life, and not allowing the past to control your emotions. Be you and Not the you that the world wants you to be. Condition your mind to be strong and to be resilient..the obstacle is always the way. You can get through anything that you chose to get through, as long as you stay true to yourself and who you know you are.

I am a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and best-selling author, and my goal is to help you discover new ways to grow outside of your role. I have been fortunate enough to create a career that combines my passions both in and out of the hospital, and I hope to share my insight, experience, and journey with you. I self published my first book, “Oh Sh*t, I Almost Killed You! A Little Book of Big Things Nursing School Forgot to Teach You” while working as a nurse in the intensive care unit. What started as a bucket list goal by my 30th birthday has since sold over 160,000 copies in paperback alone. After losing my mother unexpectedly in September of 2021, I wrote my second book. “Coffee with My Dead Mother: Lessons on Loss, Hope, & Navigating a New Normal” is a labor of love written in just four days, and was released in February of 2022. I am certain that my mom was with me the entire time, as her story – and my own – poured out of me onto a keyboard. Newly released in May 2022, I started my third book years ago, but was too scared to publish something so raw and personal related to the nursing profession. To be sure, “You Won’t Feel a Thing: The Drama, Tragedy, & Comedy of Nursing” serves as a commentary on bedside nursing and why I left. It is something that will resonate with healthcare providers at every stage of their career, and in every arena. In addition to these publications, I’ve written on behalf of numerous nursing and lifestyle outlets including “The Huffington Post,” and have spoken both in person and virtually at a variety of nursing and healthcare based events. I hope to inspire each and every one of you to find your passion, no matter how great or small, and permit yourself to remain endlessly curious. It's time to talk less about work, and more about wellness!

I found my passion of writing at a young age where I was able to express my experiences through daily journaling. When writing about the everyday challenges that women face within the workplace, I aim to express the events that occur before, during, and after the experience. Unpopular belief, life doesn’t go back to normal for most of us, as getting back to normal from any traumatic experience will leave you shielded. I found my voice through writing about my passion for enabling female empowerment. My path as a woman in leadership came from understanding the lack of consistent supportive resources, encouragement, and validation, amongst women in the workplace. Through my writing, I aim to creatively empower and encourage my readers to find their voice. .
