Amazon review from Jeff's book, Rethinking Addiction: The New Family Recovery Solution Jeff Jones has such a gift for articulating what many families intuitively feel but are rarely told: that waiting for their loved one to “hit bottom” often leaves everyone else powerless and reactive. This book reframes that dynamic in a way that is practical rather than ideological so anyone reading it can begin implementing his work immediately. His integration of nutritional and nervous-system support with relational work is rarely seen in books on addiction. The bio-nutritional sections are explained in plain language without overpromising, and the family frameworks are actionable, not abstract. The “both/and” thinking the book introduces is especially helpful for clinicians and families alike as it allows for compassion without surrendering much-needed boundaries. This isn’t a book that demonizes traditional treatment, nor does it offer a fake silver bullet. Instead, it fills in critical gaps that many recovery models leave untouched, particularly around family leadership and physiology. This is an excellent book for families who feel stuck in cycles of fear, overreaction, or exhaustion from the long, hard work of supporting a loved one out of addiction and into recovery. -- Erin Matlock
