I’m an advocate for women in the tech industry. I coach women to be stronger leaders and men who want to be better allies for women. I speak about gender diversity, leadership, and women in tech. And, to bring more diversity to speaker lineups at tech industry events, I teach public speaking workshops and co-authored "Present! A Techie’s Guide to Public Speaking." Formerly, I spent over 25 years building software products. I started off writing code and over time moved into executive leadership. Most recently, I was a vice president at Adobe Systems, where I led corporate-wide product globalization, software security, and other cross company engineering functions. Outside of my commercial ventures I work with a number of non-profits. I'm on the Brown University Computing and Information Technology Advisory Council. I'm also on the advisory boards for The Women's CLUB of Silicon Valley, WEST (Women Entering & Staying in Technology), Women Serve on Boards, and Brown University's Computer Science Department Diversity Committee. And through the Brown University Women's Launch Pad, I mentor young women about to start their careers. I'm also a bit of a public speaking geek. I'm a TEDx speaker, and I frequently give keynotes at conferences. With Poonima Vijayashankar, I wrote "Present! A Techie's Guide to Public Speaking," published November 2015. In addition, I've written articles for The Daily Beast, Inc., Fast Company, Women 2.0, and other leadership sites. In 2015, the California State Assembly honored me with the Wonder Women Tech Innovator Award for outstanding achievements in business and technology and for being a role model for women. As a part of my lifelong mission to make broken things better, I found myself in product marketing and customer experience strategy for technology companies around the country. I hold a proven record of driving go-to-market strategy, customer journey differentiation and building brands. I am as effective in the earliest stage start-up as I am in the largest technology companies in the world. I am compelled to always keep moving forward, and am driven by impactful work. I encourage open discussions, with a tendency toward asking the hard questions. I have worked within some companies which truly tested my ability to translate ambiguity into action, and I passed the test. I hold a superhuman ability to keep calm in the face of stress (see above). Surrounding myself with intelligent, bright, and curious people has been a life long goal in my pursuit of happiness.

After a busy study period in International Law, Marketing and Business my first work experiences at General Electric and JWT showed me I have a strong interest in technology and retail. This became even clearer with my time at the Henkel Home Care division in Brussels where I managed both brands and clients for four years. After Henkel I moved to Amsterdam to join a passionate team of techies at bunq, a new mobile bank led by technology and consumer demand. Here I focused on the integration and launch of the bunq API at partner companies operating in retail and online-services in B2C and B2B. Additionally I supported product development by testing, procuring and managing the implementation of biometric identification services in bunq's award-winning mobile app, as well as hiring and enabling the business development team for NL, DE & ES. Most recently I've been invited to help wiGroup International develop their partner base in the Netherlands and Europe. wiGroup is a tech company and a global leader in white label loyalty and mobile commerce technology for businesses operating in Retail and Hospitality. The loyalty and mCom platforms wiGroup provides, allows brands to gather actionable data, increase purchase frequency/value and launch completely new business models.
