As of 2022, I’ve trained salespeople from 23 different countries on two different continents. I’ve worked with principals of companies in the United States, Canada, Europe, and the Middle East. That’s why they call me the “Sales Navigator” – I help your attendees navigate the Elements of Sales on their journey to the Island of Success. My work is based on more than 25 years of excelling as an award-winning sales rep, a champion sales manager, and an in-demand speaker, trainer, and consultant working from coast to coast. The author of “Sell Like You Mean It – Outselling Your Competitors By Understanding Your Customers,” I believe that successful selling is built on a foundation of strong focus on customer needs, respect for customers’ intelligence, and a willingness to create positive outcomes for everyone the salesperson encounters. Thousands of professionals worldwide have read and benefited from my books, “Sell Like You Mean It!” (an Axiom Business Book of the Year nominee) and “The Pocket Sales Manager,” and hundreds of thousands of people across multiple industries read my monthly articles in 20 different trade magazines. By the way, you might be wondering how I got the name “The Sales Navigator,” anyway. While I’d like to take credit for coming up with it, I can’t. After answering a particularly difficult question during the Q&A period of a seminar, one attendee came up to me and said, “You know, you’re really kind of a ‘Sales Navigator’ – you helped that person navigate through their problem really well!” I liked the handle, and I kept it. Prior to opening Troy Harrison and Associates, I was a top salesperson and sales manager for over fifteen years, and has turned around territories and entire sales forces. While working for a national managed services provider, I turned one of the company’s worst sales forces into a two-time consecutive National Champion, with six President’s Club salesperson awards and two National Champion Sales Manager awards. THE FIVE SENSES OF TROY: Favorite Sights: The sun gleaming off the chrome on an old car or motorcycle; the Black Hills of South Dakota; Any beach, anywhere; or the Las Vegas Strip. Favorite Sounds: 80s rock and new wave music; meat sizzling on a grill; anything Elvis Presley ever did. Favorite Touch: A glass smooth paint job; the feel of my late Dad’s wrenches in my hand as I work on a car; a well made cotton shirt; quality leather in a jacket or on a seat. Favorite Smells: The smell of a hickory smoker with pretty much any meat on it; the smell of Sunoco Purple racing fuel being burned by a race car; Favorite Tastes: Barbecued ribs at Arthur Bryant’s in Kansas City; steak tacos at El Segundo Sol in Las Vegas, a filet steak at Center Cut in Las Vegas; any pizza anywhere in New York City.

After spending 10 years at Intel in their industrial engineering and purchasing department, I decided that I wanted to make an impact in the business world. Following several years in a managerial role within recognized organizations, with a strong focus on global supply chain management, I took things a step further and co-founded a company - Air Doctor. Air Doctor connects travelers to local doctors who speak their language. Falling ill abroad can be a scary and frustrating experience, but the Air Doctor app helps alleviate this. The app also provides medical professionals with an additional revenue stream and reduces insurer operational and claims costs. Over the past 5 years, I have embraced my role as the general manager of this global healthcare brand, further honing my negotiation, product management, strategic negotiation, and analytical skills.
