When Patrick Bryant was 17, he started a business. Not a great business...he was selling his time. Through hard work, lessons from a family bankruptcy, and a restart, by 24 he was starting his next business. This time, though, he'd hit a $1 million valuation within 10 years, grew the company to 20 offices around the US, and had learned the secrets of growing successful businesses. Patrick's biography has been a steady stream of launching new businesses in media, rolling papers, and software. As a serial entrepreneur, Patrick has now launched 6 (& counting) multi-million dollar companies, some in less than 2 years time, including CODE/+/TRUST (software development firm), Teamphoria (HR engagement software), Event.gives (fundraising event software), CrewMama (crew production directory software), Go To Team (the largest staff video crew provider in the US), and Shine Rolling Papers (24k gold rolling papers). After years as a serial entrepreneur, Patrick founded the Harbor Entrepreneur Center to provide a place to help others launch companies and create collision among other entrepreneurs in the region. The keys to his entrepreneurial success are now the founding principles taught to startup founders in the Harbor Accelerator, a 14-week program offered to 16 companies a year in Charleston, SC. Patrick loves the startup process - that moment when you create something innovative that can scale and have a clear vision of how to get a unique product or service to everyone on the planet, then build a company around that idea with talented, entrepreneurial-minded people. His principle is to think of startups as movie scripts with a specific timeline for growing each company, as well as a clear plan to exit. All of these concepts are surrounded by the overarching principles that Patrick has identified as the most important elements to building successful businesses - scale, innovation, and the ability to execute.

Liberty is the Founder/Creative Principal of Manic Metallic, a fashion media company built around the idea of respecting fashion as both an art and a discipline. She began producing Manic Metallic as an online publication in 2019 as a response to the fashion industry becoming more and more commercialized at a cost to quality coverage of talent native to fashion itself. Since then, Manic Metallic has evolved into a company that creates audio, written, and video content supporting our ethos of fashion having both an artistic and discipline-based role as well as being a societal force for change. Manic Metallic aims to critique all subjects and individuals fairly, with a strict removal of bias as its goal, and has the ultimate desire of making the fashion industry stronger. Before founding Manic Metallic, she worked in the tech and marketing industries. Her desire to work in fashion has never waned. She’s been devoted to fashion since she can remember, and has absorbed fashion magazines and websites religiously from the age of 8. She began modeling as a teen, and modeled part-time throughout her early-mid 20s. However, her sights were set on starting her own business. She’s proud to say that she has been able to carve out her own niche in the industry and looks forward to having maximum impact on fashion’s future in the years to come.

I was born in India and came here when I was around 4 years old. I lived in a home with an alcoholic and emotionally unavailable father, my mother raised my brothers and I while she worked the graveyard shift. We were extremely poor growing up and shopped at secondhand stores and clothing depots. We struggled but I had to take responsibility quickly since my mom was working nights. I became the mediator in the family because I didn’t want to upset my father who already had extreme anger issues along with his excessive drinking. I lived through a difficult marriage for many years and finally decided to leave with my year old daughter after a domestic violent household. My extended family turned their backs on me and talked about me and so did members of our community. I prevailed though. I fought back and went back to school to get my MBA. Ran a successful restaurant the entire community frequented and was in several dozen magazines, newspapers, articles, tv shows, museums, books, and started various non profits, community festivals, and served on the boards and organizations. I raised my daughter on my own with the help of my parents and proved a single Indian woman can still accomplish anything on her own despite what the community thinks. I’ve been through financial hardships, health struggles, relationship difficulties yet I’ve persevered and stayed on top. I know what it’s like to feel when you’ve hit rock bottom but mindset is everything. No one can propel you to move forward except for your thoughts and self talk. We are all worthy of our desires regardless of what reality currently shows us today. Be bold and be strong.
