When you hear me speak, in any language, you’ll hear a slight Cuban accent that has not abandoned me. The men and women I work with consider me bilingual and fluent in both Spanish and English. What they don’t usually know is that I also speak Spanglish, learned on the streets of Miami, Florida, and only understood by the residents there. Because I was uprooted from Cuba at an early age, I learned that my life can be rebuilt and transformed; life can be made into whatever I want it to become. When I’m not engaged in coaching or speaking in front of an audience, I’m spending time with my family in Monterey, Mexico, Miami, Florida, or St. Paul, Minnesota, or expanding my knowledge in the newest development in psychology and personal development. My initial corporate work came through IT consulting where I soon learned that systems and strategies, as important as they are, are not enough on their own. If one does not maximize one’s potential and discovers one’s inner strength…. This led me to the practice of executive coaching and training, where my intuitive and adaptive style came together with my passion in order to uncover the best in people and awaken my clients from the “realm of overwhelmed” to the “world of possibilities.” I graduated from iPEC school for coaches where I was certified as a Master Practitioner of the Energy Leadership Index and Certified Professional Coach. After completing over 1,000 hours of coaching, I was certified by the International Coach Federation (ICF) as a Professional Certified Coach (P.C.C.). Since then I have also studied in William Arruda’s personal branding programs Reach, and I was certified as a Certified Personal Brand Strategist and as a 360Reach Analyst. I’m a sought out speaker and coach with more than 20 years of experience delivering messages to a broad range of audiences. I have been featured in magazines, newspapers, tv, and radio such as in Emprendedor Magazine, Listin Diario, Mujeres al Borde, Broadband MarketingRD, and Revista Capacitando among others. Now I travel to the Caribbean, Latin America, Canada, and the USA delivering training and coaching to companies such as Cemex, Schneider Electric, Johnson & Johnson, Enersys, Med Johnson, and other major corporations. I focus on the areas of leadership, sales, communication, and personal brand development. The ethical truth-teller, motivator, believer, and optimist in me comes out to help executives alter their perspectives. These changes in perspective allow the executives to uncover and maximize their energy, which results in leadership effectiveness to position their companies at the forefront of their industries; it guides them to develop strategic plans to advance their objectives and to increase revenue, profitability, and growth as an organization. This is where my intuitive and adaptable style helps me get my clients, regardless of their leadership approach, the results they are looking for.

I started my career in 2015 as a case manager for a social services agency. Over the course of the next few years, I saw the significant challenges that marginalized groups face throughout our country. These experiences grew my passion for creating supportive, compassionate, empathetic spaces wherever I go. Since then, I've had the opportunity to serve within several other industries; education, hospitality, and now technology. I used to think that my career path was too "winding," - that, from an outsider's perspective, it appeared to lack focus and direction. Now I understand that non-linear paths are more than normal; in fact, they are powerful. They build the flexibility and range we all need to tackle wicked problems and thrive. Plus, now I know how to roll the perfect burrito (thanks Chipotle!). Recently, I’ve had the opportunity to build the people operations function at a startup. One of my favorite parts of this role has been creating an end-to-end recruiting and hiring process that seeks out curious, unconventional people from varied backgrounds. Listening to these candidates’ stories is usually the highlight of my week. I love to encourage others to follow their curiosity, share their stories, and see the value they bring to the world.

Ashley Scott is a data professional at a Fortune 500 company, career coach, motivational speaker, and recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award from former President Barack Obama. She is best known for sharing her blend of experience in public health and business analytics to encourage and champion the diversification of the talent pipeline in academia and data careers. After hosting several focus groups and virtual fireside chats, she learned that women in underserved communities, including hers, were not encouraged to pursue STEM careers because they felt there is a lack of role models in the field. In pursuit of her mission to promote data literacy, she started the social media campaign #DataGirl in the summer of 2020 to increase the awareness of data careers and created data-inspired apparel and accessories. A portion of proceeds goes to her scholarship fund for under-represented people interested in data education certifications and careers. Ashley has keynoted at events including Women In Data, FEM STEM Bahamas, IBM, New York Urban League, and Google, reaching audiences across the world to speak about her experience and share her expertise with data and technology. She also serves as a Women in Data Science Ambassador in a partnership with Stanford University and is a NASA Solar System Ambassador; here, she hosts events for people of all ages and educates them on the importance of solar exploration in STEM and data areas. Ashley demonstrates that there is room for more people, especially women to thrive in her platform, Data Girl Ash, where she provides insight to people interested in using data and uplifting others to successful career success pathways. He shares that story and others, speaking thirty to forty times a year to audiences from 20-20,000.
