Christoph Sollich aka The Pitch Doctor is a freelance startup consultant specializing in business model generation, marketing and - obviously - pitching. After writing his diploma thesis about “Virtual Communities” (old-school speak for “Social Networks”) and a detour through advertising (as a copywriter) he started working in startups in 2007, since 2009 as a freelancer. After winning multiple “Best Pitch” awards (and very few awards for his ideas!) at hackathons and startup weekends, startups started asking his advice about pitching - The Pitch Doctor was born. He has since helped 100s of startups with their pitches, also working as a pitch coach/mentor for many accelerators/incubators/startup competitions around Europe and MENA. In his spare time, The Pitch Doctor is founder and CEO (Chief Equine Officer) of RydeMyPony.com ("Collaboratively Consuming Ponies Together"), the soon-to-be-IPOed startup mega-success from Berlin (in funding talks with Ashton Kutcher).

Delivering keynotes, moderating panels and running interactive workshops across five continents. Also an experienced master of ceremonies for conferences with 1000+ people + chair of galas, award events and more... I'm a committed espresso user and a past chair of the International Association of Business Communicators. And I've run non-profits - and held leadership roles at IBM, Motorola; and perhaps more unusually, the 260+year–old Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (The RSA). When not at events and conferences, I provide 1:1 advice to Chairs, Chief Execs and senior leaders on strategy, change and turnarounds. I’m particularly interested in how strategic alignment can focus people - and enable growth. With my colleagues at Align, I facilitate strategy for organisations that want to enable all their people to put a shoulder to the wheel. Organisations don’t make things happen. People do. You’d be surprised how varied the clients are: government agencies, large semiconductor firms, small town councils… why? They all have people in common. Also, through courses and 1:1 mentoring I work to develop the next generation of leaders. It is all about enabling people to step up and lead. What do you want to change?

I am a two-time fashion tech entrepreneur, long-time strategy & product development consultant, and inadvertent full stack developer. I pioneered the concept of mass-customizing clothing by body type 18 years ago, and have been at the forefront of personalizing products and user experiences ever since. I'm nothing if not persistent - when I kept running into the Catch-22 of being unable to hire a tech team to build Click2Fit’s software without funding, I started learning everything I needed to know in order to develop the algorithms and build it myself – from artificial intelligence, cognitive neuroscience and physics, to designing the architecture and developing the software. Fast forward a few years later and Click2Fit is about to start beta testing its expert recommendation software, and I became a full stack developer along the way. As someone who’s self-taught (both as a programmer and as a businesswomen) and who was the only women in the room for far too long, I probably appreciate more than most just how intimidating and difficult the process can be and am driven to draw from my own experiences to help ease the way for others.

One of the best things we can do as we make our way on this earth is help, inspire and motivate others. Speaking to audiences about the ever-evolving digital world is one way I look to do that. The power of social media and the multitude of ways it can improve professional life is still being figured out by many. I take pleasure in helping others better understand social media and create actionable plans to take their dreams from mere ideas to actual existence.
