"One of the biggest challenges of a business' leadership is understanding their financial statements and using them to drive operational improvement in their companies. It is so gratifying when I look out over a group of leaders and share that very moment when they transform their thinking about their numbers to no longer seeing financials as only a necessary evil, but now eagerly await their monthly financial results to measure their progress and further improve profitability. These are the breakthrough moments that really make what we do so meaningful to me." Rod Bristol, Profit Soup I know first-hand how changes in technology and market forces impact a business. My 23 years' experience as owner of a multi-unit printing chain me prepared me well to help others weed the threats out of opportunities and focus on how to find the strategic pathway forward. Prior to buying my printing company I also spent six years as a mergers and acquisitions specialist, doing business valuations and sales. Combining this with more than eleven years as a master financial trainer, and I work hard to be a champion for business growth, productivity, valuation, and transition. Financial training that I have presented includes programs for many types of businesses. In franchising these would include sign makers, printing/shipping stores, 24 hour gyms, restoration companies, cleaning companies, QSR restaurants, hotels, DIY home centers, rental companies, lab testing companies and home health care companies to name a few. I have also presented programs for dental practices, independent pharmacies, association members of all types and contractors including insulation, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. Another set of clients include banks, both banking staff that need financial training and bank clients. Banks benefit from this type of training in that they have clients with a higher financial acumen and capability of qualifying for loans, and actually paying them back. I customize each program to the specific financial model of the client which makes the training much more relevant and meaningful to the attendees. I take a family run business and create a professionally managed company with the same people at the helm. I'm a highly-rated, entertaining keynote speaker and workshop facilitator and have a well-earned reputation for making complex financial topics clear and fun to learn. I have elevated the financial acumen and confidence of literally thousands of business owners through my work with Small Business Development Centers around the US. I am a Certified Franchise Executive and a facilitator for the International Franchise Association's education series for CFE candidates with my next program coming up in February 2020 for the ICFE.

I started my working life washing cars and sweeping floors, before starting a trade as a tombstone maker. After 8 years of the hard slog, 2 years of night school, I started my public sector career in the RAAF Police. After several years in the RAAF, I moved back to Qld as a Transport Inspector, transitioned into investigation work, prosecutions and finally ended my time with Qld Transport as the State Compliance Trainer. Chasing new direction, I moved departments to the Office of Fair Trading as an Investigation Officer. After a year I returned to training as being in front of people is where I was born to be. In 2010 I was part of a national development project for the introduction of the Australian Consumer Law, presenting training across Qld, NSW and Tasmania and loving it. In 2011 I took up the reigns as Manager of the Complaint Intake team, one of the busiest and most productive areas in OFT, handling approx. 16000 complaints and 2000 investigations per year. In 2016 an internal re-structure saw me assigned to a new position of Business Improvement Manager. In this position I was responsible for leading the new direction in staff learning and development, leadership, cultural improvement and accountability. I believe strongly in workplace mentoring and coaching and sees the benefits and has developed these skill furhter in his 15 year career as a RAAF Reservist. In recent years I have reignited my passion for public speaking and creativity taking it to the next level. I am a regular speaker at the DJAG Director General Welcomes, delivers workplace inspiration talks and was keynote speaker at the Society of Consumer Affairs Professionals Symposium in 2018. I incorporate Visual Facilitation into some of my presentation but mostly my stories are a collection of working in leadership, compliance and military policing roles. I am a huge advocate for positive change with a fresh approach to how public sector workplaces should be (and it doesn’t include beanbags or ping pong tables). I also believe in daily meditation and sees the benefits of stilling the mind even if it’s for a short time.

Tim Williams has a passion for sports. Tim grew up in a house with a mom and two sisters. As the first person in his family to go to college, he looked at basketball as the future for his family. Playing a college sport was hard, and college was even harder. Now, years later as a husband, father of three and business owner, Tim uses his own story to provide an example and motivation for youth athletes around the country. Tim says, "Focus on yourself: the only way to beat the competition is to stop trying to beat the competition. Focus on being so good that there isn't competition!" Tim's presentation style provides a unique approach that incorporates motivation, character building and inspiration that is then played out through on court/on field exercises and full team experiences that force teams to work together, to lean on each other and to embody the traits discussed. Through the experience Tim is a constant motivator, asking probing questions, encouraging each athlete to be a leader and helping them to step up in a way they have never thought about or been challenged to do previously. Athletes leave the experience feeling motivated, empowered and ready.
