Right from my secondary school days, I used to be in the school’s Literary and Debating Society where I learnt to practice the art of public speaking. In my adult years I regularly attend Public Speaking opportunities in a Christian organization. In the Educational sector, I have worked for several years as a school teacher and a college lecturer; these experiences have allowed me to further hone my skills in addressing different audiences. I have been invited to some educational association meetings to speak about my published books to head teachers of private schools, and other officials while introducing them for use in schools. I have also addressed various organizations, schools and colleges on how to improve the standard and discipline in schools. I have taught people who were on access course to University and some communication students how to improve their art of public speaking. Having worked in the diplomatic sector for twenty years and in my role as a Foreign Service Officer, as Minister Counsellor and Head of Chancery, before my voluntary retirement, I’ve had the privilege of addressing members of the diplomatic communities and the outside world from time to time on protocol and etiquette. In addition to teaching and lecturing, I have experience in the care sector. These include foster care for young children and adolescents, people with learning disabilities and the elderly. I have written two published books in this area. My varied experiences have given me insights in this sector.

We had our problems like any other family, but there was a lot of love growing up. My Father showed interest in me by coaching teams I played on. My Mom worked two jobs, and still managed to spend real time with me. I had a solid friend groups. By all accounts I was living a life that most kids would envy. My only problem? I was terribly unhappy inside. Fear, anger, and anxiety were eating me up. They were making my life’s decisions and worst of all I didn’t even know it. No one knew this was going. My mask was so good, I honestly didn’t know I was wearing one. Under the surface though I was in pain. Always trying to avoid feeling my fear, “scripting” my life to accommodate it. I spent most of my time trying to make others happy, ducking my fear by playing ‘small’. Sticking my head in the sand and pretending it wasn’t there. All of my choices were to accommodate my fear so I didn’t have to feel it. As I got older, my fear got stronger. I was even less willing to do or try new things because I was afraid of feeling failure. Of being rejected. Of being told no. I shielded myself from new relationships that I really wanted to try, I allowed opportunities that could have been fulfilling to me to pass me by, you name it. If it challenged my script of “keeping myself emotionally safe” it had to go. My world kept getting smaller as I justified not living the life I wanted through, “I’m keeping myself safe.” I was using food, tobacco, alcohol, sugar, you name it, to numb the pain. My fear came out through unhelpful emotions such as anger towards myself and loved ones. My ability to love myself, even like myself, and keep my self doubt at bay was eroding along with my script. Something had to change. My discomfort had reached a tipping point just as I was entering College in Boston. I had started Boxing at the local Y and was fortunate enough to find a great friend in mentor named E, who taught me my life's most valuable lesson. "You could not be oversensitive to your emotions, only undertrained." I was no longer willing to follow my ‘script’ and trade the authentic life I wanted for a life of feeling less fear. I painstakingly sought out and studied under incredibly wise and compassionate mentors, earned myself a Masters degree in Eastern Medicine, learning how to use the energy around me and my emotions within me to go after the life I wanted. I put that energetic knowledge to the test, putting myself through some of the most physically, mentally, and emotionally demanding challenges in the world, such as Ironman racing, Marathons, to build relationships with my uncomfortable emotions. “I no longer wait frightened of when my fear might show up in my life. I have healthy relationships with all of my emotions. I learned to listen to them, value them, even befriend them, so I can use them to fuel my actions towards building the life I wanted.”

Jamie Levine is an author, founder of Team Esteem, creator of the Team Esteem™ approach to improving behavior, and most importantly, a mom. Jamie’s decision to make behavioral development her life’s work stemmed from her own academic struggles and a late ADHD diagnosis when she was a student at Boston University. Jamie received her Master of Science in Special Education from Fordham University in 2001, and has extensive experience helping children struggling with social, emotional and behavioral challenges. She began her teaching career in New York City at The Gillen Brewer School and The Parkside School, and has worked with children experiencing speech/language delays and sensory disorders. The Team Esteem™ approach to behavioral therapy was conceived in 2005 during a conversation Jamie had with one of her student’s psychiatrists. They discussed the frequent frustration which manifests between a child’s parents, educators and other caregivers. This disconnect often creates inefficiency, confusion, and an overall barrier towards a child’s progression. School directors came to recognize Jamie as an expert and an advisor who could handle the most challenging cases in and out of the classroom, opening lines of communications for all and raising the educational bar. Team Esteem™ launched in 2009, and the curriculum evolved from Jamie’s work as a 1:1 teacher to training, placing and managing other Team Esteem-trained teachers, SEITS, paras and aids. Today, the program has evolved into an even better, more comprehensive program which offers 1:1 parent strategy sessions, parent and community workshops. Jamie is looking forward to the launch of the first online Team Esteem program in Spring 2021.

I’m Dr. Vaneeta Aggarwal, an educator, entrepreneur, and passionate advocate for business and education. I’ve spent over two decades as an Associate Professor of Physics at the University of Delhi, but my journey has also led me to explore new ventures in consulting, publishing, coaching, and more. I founded Bizemag Advisors, a consulting firm that works in the areas of higher education, digital publishing, corporate PR, and media events. Through Bizemag, we also create opportunities for international collaboration between universities and help bridge the skills gap with our online skill academy aimed at improving employability. In addition, I’m the founder of Bizemag Media, where we publish a monthly digital corporate magazine, produce business podcasts and webcasts, and organize various corporate and educational events. These platforms are designed to facilitate learning and collaboration, and I’m proud to see how they’ve grown over time. I’ve also written a science fiction novel, "The Missing Bot", which is available on Kindle, Amazon, and Goodreads. It’s a personal project that allowed me to explore my creative side while combining my interest in technology and storytelling. Along the way, I’ve been fortunate enough to speak at events on topics such as women’s entrepreneurship, ESG compliance, diversity and inclusion, and financial independence for women. I’ve had the privilege of being recognized in several media outlets, including Forbes India, The CEO India, and Times of India, and serving as a jury member for the Stevie Awards from 2022 to 2024. Through all these experiences, I’ve learned that making a difference, whether in education or business, requires a constant commitment to growth and collaboration. I hope my journey can inspire others to pursue their passions and make a positive impact in their own fields.
