A leader in the tennis industry with over 30 years of experience, including 11 years competing on the WTA Tour, leadership among peers representing players on the WTA Tour Board, speaker & advocate for women in sports, and high-performance coaching & mentorship to student-athletes and their families. In her competitive tennis career, Marianne won 19 USTA Junior Championships and as a student-athlete at Stanford, she was an All American and a member of the 1986 NCAA National Championship team. Marianne currently lives in San Diego with her three boys. I am a civil rights worker from the 1960s. I attended the March on Washington (1963) where Dr. King made his famous “I Have a Dream” speech, was a project co-director during the Mississippi Freedom Summer (1964), and helped organize the Selma-Montgomery March (1965) where I walked across the Edmund Pettus Bridge with Dr. King. I also helped Richard Beymer (West Side Story) make a movie in 1964 about Freedom Schools and voter registration.
