In 2004, Matt began as a financial advisor with Edward Jones, launching a practice serving clients in northern Minnesota. In 2009, he was given the opportunity to relocate to the Edward Jones headquarters in St. Louis, where he became responsible for the Financial Advisor Career Development Program, our firm's one-of-a-kind, residency-style financial advisor training program. Matt’s love for serving clients and their families led him back to being a practitioner, and he is thrilled to have been serving individual investors and business owners in the greater St. Louis Area since 2015. Matt earned his BA in elementary education at the College of St. Scholastica, and his MS in educational leadership from Minnesota State University. He serves on the Board of Faith Haven House, a local transitional housing organization for men, and is a past Chairman of a local Young Professionals and United Way. Today, Matt resides in St. Charles, Missouri with his wife, Kate, and their two children, Isaiah and Maggie. After going through a divorce in 2014, I found myself in the position of working paycheck-to-paycheck with little to spare at the end of each month. As a single mom, I wanted financial security for my child, so I set out to make the right connections to learn how to flip homes in California. Although I had early success, legal expenses from the divorce were extracting all the profits I was making, but I was determined to build wealth and a legacy for my family. When my daughter moved to Louisiana for college, I relocated to Jackson, MS so I could be closer to her, and that’s where I started my real estate investment career in earnest. Discouraged by a few set-backs that would leave me nearly homeless, within a month I closed on my first home and had $500 left to my name. In 2018, I founded “WIT (Whatever It Takes) Property Finders” and finally accomplished my goal of building my wealth and legacy.
