Many people on the planet will be born in and around technology. There are pockets of human beings which are may not ever be exposed to technology which is nearly impossible to imagine. The digital divide is only a gap after all, yet there may be worlds which separate digital experiences. Thank you for reviewing my brief bio and taking time to know a little more about me. I was born on May 14, 1958 in Texas City, Texas and on that day, the world was changed forever. Fear not, my arrogance is not rearing its ugly head by any means, for I believe, that on the day each of you were born, the world was changed and never to be the same again. I am going to take you on a journey through a bad neighborhood; my mind. It is not a place you want to travel alone, so bring a friend. I will do my best to lighten the load with funny stories from my life as a drunk and drug addict (of which there are many). Then I hope to take you all the way through to the other side where we will leave the darkness (and it gets really dark) and enter the light. So, let’s get started on this journey, shall we? I was delivered from thirty years of addiction to drugs and alcohol, the last ten on heroin, on November 19, 2001. Since then I have written six books on addiction, achieved a BS In Psychology/Addictions, an MA in Addictions Counseling and am licensed in the state of Texas to counsel addicts. I spent 7 years as a youth pastor and 10 in working in the addictions field. Between my experience and education I consider myself an expert in the field. I help addicts but also the families of addicts as the navigate the stormy waters of addiction. John Michael Weber, LCDC, MA.

Cleon Jones Jr., M.Ed. was born in Jamaica, New York to Angela and Cleon Jones. His father is celebrated for his 13 year career as the most popular New York Met of all time with his famous catch of the last out in the 1969 World Series. Cleon Jr. and his father are also descendants of captives on the last slave ship to land in the United States of America in 1859, along with having Moorish ancestry from Mobile, Alabama that arrived from Africa approximately 200 years before Europeans according to a great-grandmother simply called, " Mama Tucci", who was a Moor herself that died 1979. She spoke of stories that revealed Europeans settling with Moors in AfricaTown/Plateau, Alabama that were always there. Cleon Jr., was raised in AfricaTown or Plateau, Alabama that was a training ground for great athletes like Hank and Tommie Aaron, Cleon Jones, Tommie Agee, Satchel Paige, and Billy Williams. Cleon Jr. had been a hard working student and a an athlete his entire life because it was a family tradition. He played high school, college and professional football and has been an educator for 20 years. It was not until he walked away from professional football and teaching full-time at a fairly young age that he found himself lost without a true identity. He did not want to walk away from his purpose in life, but he had a notion to sacrifice his dreams for the dreams of others he loved. It was through the 40 years in this emotional torment and spiritual wilderness that Cle found the importance of finding your purpose in life and never walk away from it for any reason.

I've dealt with a chronic illness that traumatized my reproductive system since the age of 16 (I'm now 21) that catapulted anxiety, depression and feeling extremely isolated. No one was talking about the realities of womanhood so I've been making an effort to incorporate my experiences throughout the years and recent egg freezing into my Instagram that has caused a positive reaction from a lot of people who silently go through similar things. Healthcare for those with female reproductive systems is made into a play ground by politicians and not enough research goes into common diseases that are still enigmas such as endometriosis, pelvic adhesions disease ect. Education and awareness about such things are key in the advancement to normalize as well as protect our bodies. Sympathizing with personal accounts helps to actualize these often times hidden realities and therefore generates growth and community.

I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania. Mixed race and working class. Depression ran on both sides of the family. I was a nice kid. I had a good heart. My father was dark and brooding and sometimes abusive. It messed me up. By 11, I was deeply angry. Home was miserable. As I grew up, I poured myself into everything. Everything gave me an excuse not to be at home and a chance to prove myself. I became obsessed with proving myself. I got into Cornell but I dropped out. I was too poor and too messed up. I moved to California and wound up working construction and sleeping in my car. I hit rock bottom, became depressed and then suicidal. I got some antidepressants and they helped, but then I couldn't afford to get more. So a girl who loved me gave me hers. I got back into Cornell. I studied with the Pulitzer Prize winning historian Michael Kammen, who became a friend and mentor. I graduated from Cornell Phi Beta Kappa, turned down high paying jobs, and went to teach high school English in inner city Baltimore. I broke up riots, got cut, got maced, was on the news, fought constantly with my principal (who in my view was immoral and incompetent), and ultimately got thrown out of my first school (the most violent school in Baltimore) and transferred across town. I went to law school at Georgetown. I was poor, worked a bunch of odd jobs, and barely went to class. Whenever I ran out of money or food, I went to whatever functions or receptions they had on campus. I made law review. I graduated. I went to work at Boies, Schiller & Flexner with some of the most brilliant lawyers practicing law today. I left Boies, started my own law firm, and went broke in short order. I moved into a crappy little apartment and put my truck up for sale. I applied for other jobs. But in the end, I hung on just enough and started to build. I did some big cases, but the most important work I did was represent poor people against bogus non-compete agreements. Factory workers. Janitors. Security guards. Interns. I went to bat for these people. For free. To protect them from being abused and exploited. I called it modern day slavery and indentured servitude. That offended lots of powerful people. I made lots of enemies. But I started a national movement against non-compete abuse. It's a modern day civil rights movement. I wound up on PBS News Hour, in the New York Times, Bloomberg, FundFire, Law360, and more. Then the tv networks started calling. Vice News. People from Stars. Meanwhile, I was speaking all over the place. Cornell. Georgetown. National Urban League. Trayvon Martin Foundation. And blogging on LinkedIn, which apparently took off because I'm brutally honest in a world full of liars. I met the love of my life. Healed all the hurt and hate that I had carried for 30 years. Forgave everything. Stacked nearly enough money to walk away from the law game. I'm happy. I'm whole. And I'm still uncompromised.
