“Me in a nut shell” Learn (fast) – Implement (what I learnt) – Disrupt (improvisation) – New learning/solution (output), has been my mantra. Spent the last 10 years working in different industries/departments thus being able to bring cross industry innovation/solutions. I like to see it as a “Renaissance Man” in the making. Worked for/with companies such as GE, World bank, at&t, Verizon and few smaller ones. Started off with customer service, sales, business development, project management but eventually the heart settled for Training and Development. Few setbacks and failures in life helped develop the skills that would eventually be my greatest asset of all. - Emotional intelligence, Soft-skills, body language, scientific and psychological approach towards communication are few skills that soon lead me to take on roles like Mentor/Coach/Trainer. These roles eventually lead to a deeper insight of how we as humans are wired to function, forever changing the eyes that see the world around. Always eager to work with people who are interested in learning and expanding the limitations of how we function and communicate.

Like most people, David Woods Bartley has seen his fair share of successes and setbacks; from directing a nationally recognized nonprofit to battling a life-threatening mental illness. But over the last seven years, David has successfully navigated from the isolation of mental “hellness” to the inclusive space of mental wellness. Currently, David is a member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the International Association for Youth Mental Health, the National Storytelling Network’s Healing Story Alliance, and Active Minds. David holds certifications in Mental Health First Aid for Adults and Youth, SafeTALK (Suicide Awareness for Everyone), and is a national trainer for the groundbreaking suicide prevention technique known as QPR (Question, Persuade and Refer). David has been invited to speak before a wide range of domestic and international audiences, giving keynote speeches and leading workshops on a variety of aspects of mental health, including suicide awareness and prevention, the power of connection to create hope, and the use of language as a tool for healing. In addition to giving a TEDx talk in the fall of 2018, David has been invited to present to organizations such as the United States Food and Drug Administration, the Army Corps of Engineers, Novartis, Takeda Pharmaceuticals, Lyft, Sutter Health, Vision Service Plan, the University of Connecticut, the California Northstate School of Medicine, UC Davis, Sacramento State, William Jessup University, along with various faith denominations, law enforcement agencies and community organizations at the local, state and national level. Figuring out what to say is like jumping out of a moving train of thought: hurl yourself into the wild wind and hope for the best in the world outside your mind. It doesn't have to be that way. I work with organizations to identify priorities, zero in on what you need to say, and say it in a way that shapes attitudes and behaviors. For 20+ years, I have helped corporations, higher education institutions, and nonprofit organizations create bold, compelling messages to get the results they want. Here are a few details about me: • Award-winning master educator and recognized expert in message development for brand building, leadership presence, and audience engagement. • Deep knowledge of the nuances of communication and its ability to change minds and behaviors. • Seasoned writer and public speaker honored by the International Communication Association, National Communication Association, and the Association of Teacher Educators. Featured on TEDxCSULB, ABC7 Eyewitness News, and KMEX 34 Univision in Los Angeles. •Multicultural impact: bilingual in English/Spanish, lived in the Caribbean, Europe and North America. With the mind of a data scientist, the heart of a coach, and the spirit of a savvy strategist, I talk the talk and walk the walk in ways that will take your business or communication project to the next level. Through workshops, presentations, seminars, assessments, and consulting sessions, I'll help you discover what works and doesn't work for your unique situation. Messages matter. Words have the power to inspire, engage, influence, and move people to action. Or simply hit you where it hurts. As a professor, consultant, and deep-rooted member of the community, I have crossed industry boundaries for over two decades, crafting and fine-tuning communication strategies for individuals and organizations in education, financial services, natural gas, and other fields. Whether I am delivering a seminar for a large corporation or consulting with a nonprofit organization, I listen attentively, perform critical assignments, and create customized programs that help participants break through barriers for brand building, leadership presence, multicultural innovation, team management, presentation impact (audience engagement), interpersonal communication, and conflict resolution. If you could use an outside perspective to drive your inside game, then please reach out today! I can't wait to hear your story and help you create original solutions for you, your organization, and your brand.
