As a Certified Professional Coach, disability advocate, small business owner, disabled adult living with low vision, proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, writer, brother, uncle, and more - my lived experience, extensive training, and education combine in a deep understanding the complexities associated with developing a culture of inclusion. Matt is a former Police Officer whose life spiraled out of control when he was arrested at work. His lived experiences battling post-traumatic stress gives him the ability to tailor a message of resilience, mindset, and leadership that creates an engaging atmosphere and a touching experience that will stay with your team. Matt shares his own inspirational story about resilience and triumph over adversity. After 10 years as a front-line Police Officer with SA Police, witnessing constant human depravity and the failings of the system, Matt was diagnosed with severe Post Traumatic Stress and Depression. Matt almost lost his marriage and family and was battling suicidal thoughts when his deep depression and reckless behaviour led to his arrest whilst at work in 2015. The following years resulted in intense recovery, working through a serious identity crisis and challenging his core values. Matt shares his learnings around the importance of community, values-based decision-making, looking out for each other, challenging the individuals/organisations on their values; and how they make decisions in everyday life to better serve their goals or purpose. The themes Matt speaks on include resilience, leadership, teamwork, community, mateship, identity, core values, and overcoming hardship. Matt now works as a Mental Health Advocate for emergency services and military personnel using his lived experience to encourage difficult conversations around mental health self-awareness in attempts to change organisational culture. Matt is also a registered Counsellor, an R U OK? Community Ambassador, Mental Health First Aid Instructor, and a board member for the Lived Experience Leadership & Advocacy Network.

I am a survivor and I talk about it. I allowed the pain and trauma of being kidnapped and held hostage for 5 months while pregnant to control me. I escaped my kidnapper and hired a bodyguard to protect me and my 3-month-old child. I fell in love with my bodyguard and married him. 15 years later we tell our story worldwide to help others see there is life after trauma. It was not until I looked inward and saw that the pain that I refused to accept was fogging my reality, that I could let go and heal. I began telling my story publicly two years ago and have since been posted 29 times worldwide, written my book, and built a social media following. I left my job as a teacher of 10 years after I felt the Lord pulling me to share my story and help others see there is more to life then the trauma they have experienced.

I’ve been using my intuition since the age of four. I learned to work with my healing abilities by working with ET’s and studied shamanism, remote viewing and past life regression. I teach people how to tap into and use their own intuition to better their lives. I also work with Changa to promote healing and help move through fear.

I've had the privilege to play many cards in this deck of life. Both great and horrendous experiences have taught me that life is beautiful, and worth living. From losing my father at a young age, to almost losing my life in a combat zone. I learned fast and hard that life will beat you down if you let it. Finding passion for life again is only half the battle, YOU HAVE TO GET OUT THERE and see for yourself. Since my injuries in Afghanistan that left me scarred and without a leg and only stories left of my comrades lost, I have found that passion. From sleeping five days on the side of a vertical cliff on El Capitan's Nose route in Yosemite's National park, and mentoring other adaptive climbers alike, to racing the desert confines over a week for the Baja 1000 with my mentors. The story you will hear is not of many, but it is one of success. For I am still here, still thriving and living, but most importantly still here and able to give back. Cheers to the good fight

In December of 2019, at the age of 27, I received a life saving liver transplant thanks to the generosity of my living donor, my uncle Mark. Transplant has by far been the most difficult and humbling experience of my life, and has completely motivated me to live life to the absolute fullest. Post-transplant I became a Donate Life Ambassador to help educate others on organ donation and encourage them to register to be an organ donor. I’ve found that there are still many myths and misconceptions around organ donation and it is not discussed nearly enough, especially within my age group. Almost 114,000 people in the United States are currently on the waiting list for a life-saving organ transplant, and on average 20 people die a day every day from the lack of available organs for transplant. I’m one of the lucky ones who received a transplant, and am inspired to help make the waiting list smaller and smaller until it is eventually 0. I’ve been using Instagram as a platform to share my transplant story and educate others on what it is like being an immunocompromised person during the COVID-19 pandemic. I think it is helpful to see that while someone may look “young and healthy” this may not always be the case, and to put a face to the people whose lives can be saved from following social-distancing measures and flattening the curve of the spread of coronavirus. Throughout my transplant and now the COVID-19 pandemic, I’m often asked how I remain so positive given the circumstances. My answer is pretty simple – I do what I can to protect myself and keep myself safe, but don’t worry over the things that are out of my control
