About
When you bring me to your event, you’re choosing authenticity, lived experience, and impactful insight; not just another motivational talk. I speak from a place most speakers can’t: I am autistic, and I have lived through the challenges, misconceptions, and triumphs that many in your audience are navigating right now. My journey from early diagnosis and overcoming communication barriers to graduating college, writing books, and becoming a certified motivational speaker gives me a unique, credible voice of empowerment and understanding. I don’t just talk about autism, I live it, I teach about it, and I inspire others to see it as a strength, not a limitation. My talks blend personal stories, practical insights, myth-busting clarity, and uplifting encouragement so audiences walk away feeling informed, seen, and motivated to act. I’ve delivered keynotes at major conferences such as the PA Lifesharing Conference, the Virtual Wellness Works Vitality Summit, and the Missouri Behavioral Health Conference. I also bring firsthand corporate experience from my work with Avanade, where I’ve spoken about inclusion and neurodiversity in the workplace, helping connect lived experience with actionable organizational change. My message resonates with professionals, caregivers, educators, families, and individuals alike. As an author of two books on autism and dating and mental health, I bring both written and spoken authority to every engagement. Choose me because your audience will not only learn; they will feel seen, empowered, and equipped to embrace neurodiversity, challenge stigma, and pursue personal growth.
Mental Health and Autism: Raising Awareness and Promoting Change
I will discuss some of the most common myths about autism, such as the belief that vaccines cause autism or that all autistic individuals have severe intellectual disabilities. I will provide accurate information to dispel these myths and help the audience better understand the realities of autism. Autistic people are more likely to develop mental health problems like depression, anxiety and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). So, I will highlight the importance of mental health in the autism community and explore the challenges faced by autistic individuals in education and employment. It is important to provide support and resources to help autistic individuals manage their mental health. I will also discuss how common the occurrence of other medical conditions, such as epilepsy, gastrointestinal issues, and sleep disorders, is among individuals with autism and why it’s important to address them for overall health management.
Embracing the Spectrum: A Journey Through Autism
Firstly, I will share my personal journey, beginning with the diagnosis of autism at a tender age and the subsequent challenges I faced in academic and professional settings. I hope to challenge some common stereotypes about autism and demonstrate how it can be a source of strength. I will then go into detail about how I dealt with high emotions, communication challenges, social interaction issues, and bullying during my teenage years, which were characterized by the management of symptoms linked to autism. I will talk about my concerns about starting college and my doubts about my ability to succeed in higher education. Drawing on my own experiences, I will discuss how accepting my autism has allowed me to see the world from a different perspective, fostering creativity and innovation, and how anyone can use their unique characteristics for personal growth and success.
