This Might Get Awkward - Real Stories of Vulnerable Leadership That Worked
Forget perfection in leadership. In this high-energy, story-packed keynote, award-winning news manager and former comedy writer Jason Reid shows how real leadership starts with something uncomfortable: vulnerability. Drawing from his own journey managing chronic illness while leading top-performing teams, Jason reveals how honesty, humility, and even a little awkwardness can unlock trust, drive innovation, and double productivity. You’ll hear the hilarious (and humbling) story of how a “stupid idea” won a national award, why fixing a 10-cent screw beat weeks of HR meetings, and how being honest about his health issues more than doubled productivity and helped his organization win prestigious journalism awards for the first time in it's history. Equal parts funny, raw, and deeply insightful, this keynote is for anyone ready to ditch the leadership mask and build teams fueled by trust, not fear.
