About
Organizations choose to work with me because I bring a grounded, systems-level perspective to leadership and human capacity. My work helps people make sense of complexity without oversimplifying it, and supports clearer decision-making during periods of pressure and change. I combine experience inside large organizations, nonprofit leadership, and long-term advisory work with individuals and teams. This allows me to speak with credibility across sectors and to meet audiences where they are, without relying on trends, jargon, or one-size-fits-all solutions. My approach is practical, human, and non-pathologizing. Participants often say they leave with language and perspective they did not have before, and with a greater sense of clarity, steadiness, and self-trust they can apply immediately.
Clarity Under Pressure Decision-Making When There Is No Perfect Choice
Leaders today are making decisions amid uncertainty, competing demands, and incomplete information. The challenge is not a lack of options, but the internal strain that clouds judgment and slows action. In this talk, Ellen Palmer explores how mental load, emotional pressure, and internal capacity shape decision-making in complex environments. Participants gain a grounded framework for navigating ambiguity, reducing decision fatigue, and moving forward with greater clarity and confidence when there is no obvious “right” answer.
Human Systems at Work Why Performance, Engagement, and Retention Are Internal Before They’re Organizational
Organizations often focus on external structures to improve performance and engagement, while overlooking the internal human systems that determine how people actually show up. This talk examines how cognitive, emotional, and physiological strain influence focus, motivation, and collaboration at work. Ellen Palmer helps leaders understand why burnout, disengagement, and turnover persist despite good intentions, and how strengthening internal capacity supports healthier, more sustainable organizational outcomes.
Leading Well Through Change: Women’s Health, Mental Clarity, and Sustainable Leadership
Women leaders are navigating increasing complexity at work while often experiencing significant changes in their bodies, energy, and emotional landscape. These shifts are rarely acknowledged in professional settings, yet they can meaningfully influence focus, resilience, and decision-making. In this session, Ellen Palmer offers a grounded overview of foundational women’s health and mental wellbeing, with attention to perimenopause and menopause. Framed as a leadership capacity issue rather than a medical topic, the talk normalizes shared experiences and provides practical ways for women to support clarity, steadiness, and sustainable leadership through change.
