Planning a speaking event is a big achievement for any business. Due to the pressure of getting the event organized, it’s important to use the latest technology to ensure everything runs smoothly. One powerful tool which many speakers don’t utilize is a Secretary of State API. In this article, we’ll discuss how it can benefit you at your next speaking event.
A Secretary of State API gives users access to a number of public records which are maintained by the Secretary of State’s office. This information can include but isn’t limited to voter information, business registrations, event compliance and campaign finance data. In regards to event organizers, this API allows for speakers to make better decisions regarding planning and managing their event.
According to LinkedIn, the corporate event industry generated over $95.3 billion in 2020, and is forecasted to reach $510 billion by 2030. Corporate events are great ways for speakers to get their message across, but you need to make sure your potential speakers are verified.
One way you can do this is through the API to confirm if the speakers are connected to any legitimate organization. This can be done by checking for business registrations. If you have political figures speaking at your event, check the API for their funding sources. This will give you an idea on their position and influence in the community.
By gathering registration data and demographic data from the API, you have the potential to understand your audience better. It will also help you tailor your event to the attendees you’ll have present.
For example, analyzing voter registration data helps you shape your marketing material and speaking material for more impact. You can also use it to segment different campaigns for speaking events in different locations.
This can help you create shareable content which can be shown on your event’s website or social media platforms. This targeted content can help to gain more interest towards your speaking events in the future.
Hosting a speaking event requires compliance with local regulations. Using the API, you can check for required permits before you plan the event. For political speaking events utilize the campaign finance data to make sure all speakers are fully transparent about their funding sources. This can help foster trust amongst your attendees.
After your event has finished it’s a good idea to collect and analyze the data you have in order to improve future events. You can evaluate each speaker's impact by using feedback forms from attendees.
You can then compare and analyze this with the API’s data to better understand the overall effectiveness of your speakers. This can also help you to identify a trend which could refine your approach to future events.
A Secretary of State API is a valuable resource which has the ability to help speakers and event organizers plan and execute their events in a smooth way. Utilizing the data and information it can provide, you have the potential to really create an event that is impactful and effective.
